Temple Reflection

From visiting the temple that our class went to, I believe the reason why people seek out nature and creation through religion is because they need something that would explain the unknown. They would use religion to answer their questions because to them it is the only way to live by. As such when we visited the Seven stars shrine, the Buddha there would apparently grant you one wish if you bowed to him 3 times. However the wish would only be granted by the 'attitude of the bow" or how the bow was done in accordance to his or her thoughts. The wish could be anything, like career, cure from a disease, and etc. Another example would be the building filled with the statues. The monk there explained that after death, the soul would separate and go to court where he or she would be judged based on how well or bad he or she lived. Each statue had a different role for the soul after that person has died. This is how i believe that religion influences people.
