This article is about how before the Florida pastor decided to cancel, was still intent on burning the koran on the anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. This issue received condemnations from world leaders and Islam leaders from around the world in protest to this plan. The government also finds this as controversial and wrong but however and do little to stop as this would violate the pastor's right to the freedom of speech. President Obama joined the group of high officials that condemned the koran burning, reasoning that by burning the koran it would spark violence from the Muslim community. Christian communities that reside in the Middle East say that should the Muslim community act out in violence against them, it would be the pastor's fault for causing it, not the Muslims.
In this other article from Afghanistan, a demonstration was held in protest against the koran burningm where people began shouting "Allah O Akbar" aloud and carrying signs of the same phrase. It is believed the reason the pastor decided to hold a koran burning was in response to the fact that a mosque was being built in New York, near the site of the 9/11 event.
These two articles are similar as they both talk about how the pastor's decision to burn the koran was condemned and scorned upon by the whole communities. Also both mention the fact that the most likely reason why the pastor was going to burn the koran was in response to the mosque at ground zero, a plan in which it is believed to be still going to be built. Muslims reacted this way against the koran burning because the koran is a sacred and holy scripture of the Islam religion and it must be held sacred and not be tainted or disfigured.
